This was the Fourteenth occasion that the Orchestra has played a "Proms in the Garden" concert at this venue. This year it raised funds for the The Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, Shrewsbury and for Alzeimer's Research UK. This concert, named "The Platinum Proms Concert", was organised by the Church and Age UK North Shropshre Supporters Group to raise funds. In addition to the Orchestra there were contributions from Ellesmere College Choral Society, Ellesmere College Chamber Choir, both conducted by Tony Coupe, Rhian-Carys Jones (Soprano), and Kevin Whitley (Organ). The concert included a wide selection of music including the "Last Night" Proms favourites, Elgar's "Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1", "Fantasia on British Sea Songs" by Sir Henry Wood and Hubert Parry's "Jerusalem". Because the 2020 concert was cancelled and 2021 didn't take place, both because of Covid restrictions, this was the twelth outdoor "Proms in the Garden" that the Orchestra has played at Mytton Cottage. Presented by The West Shrewsbury Hospice Support Group to raise funds for The Severn Hospice, Shrewsbury this was the thirty fourth "Last Night of the Proms" themed concert that the Orchestra has played for this fund raising group. The Orchestra was joined by Jessica Johnson (Soprano) and Andrew Murray (Baritone)). The highlight of the concert was the premiere of "The Shropshire Suite" by Matthew Curtis, commissioned by the orchestra in memory of Dianna Whittard, violinist, and long term member of the orchestra, who bequeathed a sum of money to the orchestra when she died in February 2018. The concert raised substantial funds for the Severn Hospice and the programme of music was as follows: -

North Shropshire Age UK Supporters Group together with St. Mary's Church presented this "Last Night of the Proms" themed concert. Ellesmere College Choral Society, Ellesmere College Chamber Choir and the G and T singers also featured. A substantial sum was raised to be shared by the St. Mary's Church, Ellesmere and Age UK North Shropshire Supporters. Presented by The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association "A Christmas Celebration for Guide Dogs" was the second concert the Orchestra has played to raise funds for this organization. The concert was a combination of Christmas Light Music and carols and the Orchestra was joined by two choirs, one being a childrens choir. who lead the community singing of carols and also had some solos with the Orchestra The concert raised a substantial sum of money to help train more Guide Dogs and the programme of music was as follows:

This was the seventh outdoor "Proms in the Garden" that the Orchestra has played at Mytton Cottage. On each occaision substantial funds have been raised to support The Severn Hospice, Shrewsbury. and Mytton Village Hall. The orchestra was joined by Jessica Johnson (soprano) and Andrew Murray (baritone) for some songs and leading the community singing. Despite a wet morning and afternoon, and a shower early evening the concert went ahead, with a slight delay of starting time and the programme of music was as follows :-

Presented by The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association "A Christmas Celebration for Guide Dogs" was a combination of traditional carols and readings together with a variety of Christmas Light Music. Presented by The Shrewsbury Breathing Club Support Group, "A Concert of Light Music at Christmas" was the eleventh concert that the orchestra has played for this charity; it was one of Christmas Music. There were to have been contributions from soloists Paul Wood (percussionist) and Jess Abrahams (soprano) but both were indisposed. The concert raised over £500 for The Breathing Club. This was the fifth visit of the Orchestra to Mytton Cottage for a "Proms in the Garden" concert. The evening was sunny and warm, in contrast to previous visits when the weather had been somewhat different, and a large sum was raised for the two Charities, Mytton Village Hall and The Severn Hospice. This "Proms in the Park" concert was part of The UK Motorhome and Caravan Summer Fair, held on an outdoor Summer Stage on an overcast but pleasant Summer evening. Although the concert was part of the Summer Fair, it was also open to the general public and they were present in force to join in the community singing and clapping which is always a feature of a "Last Night" concert. Presented by The West Shrewsbury Hospice Support Group this was the twenty sixth concert that the Orchestra has played to raise funds for The Severn Hospice, Shrewsbury. As always for this concert it was a "Last Night of the Proms" theme and the Orchestra was joined by singers Jessica Johnson (Soprano) and Andrew Murray (Baritone) and by Pipers Mike Shanahan and Graham Hislop. The concert raised substantial funds for the Hospice and the Programme of music was as follows: -

Presented by The Shrewsbury Breathing Club Support Group, "Light Music at Christmas" was the ninth occasion that the Orchestra played for this Charity. It was a concert of Christmas and other light music and some carols with audience participation and there were also contributions from young players/singers, Bethan Robinson - violin and Jess Abrahams - soprano. This "Proms in the Park" concert was part of The UK Motorhome and Caravan Summer Fair, held on an outdoor Summer Stage on a very pleasant Summer evening. Although the concert was part of the Summer Fair, it was also open to the general public and they were present in force to join in the community singing and clapping which is always a feature of a "Last Night" concert. The orchestra was joined by Jessica Johnson, soprano, for some songs and leading the community singing. This concert, the eigth featuring the SLO, was presented by The Shrewsbury Breathing Club Support Group to raise funds for that Club. It was a concert of Christmas music, with some carols, and two young people performed as well, Jess Abrahams sang and ProtiK Moulik played piano. One piece, a carol, "Christmas Comes but Once a Year" was the premier performance in Britain and it was also premiered in New York, USA on the same evening.
A total of £540 was raised.
The Breathing Club was started in 1981 to provide help for people with chronic disabling respiratory disease, and their carers. It offers social support, education and companionship on a regular basis and it has been seen that the club improves the quality of life of its members both psychologically and physically. The club is self-funded and relies on the generosity of its members and the general public, without which it could not continue to give vital help and support to members.

This was the third visit by the Orchestra to the Golf Club and a "Last Night of the Proms" programme was requested. There were songs from Jessica Johnson (soprano) and she also led the audience participation singing.
The concert raised funds for the Golf Club and for the Captains' choice of Charities. The Bernard Lingen Trust (for the Ladies' Captain) and Cancer Research UK (for the Gentlemen's Captain).
